Mississippi State received some positive news from its first official visit weekend of 2014.

The Bulldogs added Copiah-Lincoln Community College tight end Darrion Hutcherson to the fold following his official visit to Starkville.

The 6-foot-7, 260-pounder from Dadeville, Ala., originally signed with Auburn in 2012 but failed to qualify. Hutcherson also had offers from Cincinnati, West Virginia, Arkansas, Indiana, TCU, Temple and Washington.

The three-star prospect caught four passes for 68 yards in six games for the Wolfpack this past fall. Hutcherson is rated as the nation’s No. 3 junior college tight end recruit according to 247Sports.com.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
