Mississippi State will host its second annual alumni weekend around Saturday’s Arkansas game.

Rick Ray and the Bulldogs will welcome back former MSU players and coaches starting Friday and will be honored during Saturday’s 3 p.m. contest against the Razorbacks.

“I’m really excited about this upcoming Saturday,” Ray said. “Last year we had our inaugural event having our former basketball players and alums come back to Mississippi State. We had great participation with a lot of people coming back here and getting a chance to reconnect with Mississippi State basketball.

“I think that’s something that’s important that we make sure everybody still feels like they are part of the family with all the coaching changes that have happened throughout the years. We want to make sure Mississippi State is a place they can call home. I thought it was a chance to get people back on campus that hadn’t been here in years and see all the upgrades in facilities, improvements and the way that Mississippi State has grown as a program.

“We’ve got a brand new renovated locker room and some of these guys will be able to go through there and see pictures of themselves up in the locker room.”

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
