Mississippi State added a late addition to its 2014 signing class as Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., tight end Ravian Pierce signed a national letter of intent with the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder took his official visit to Starkville over the weekend having de-committed from a four month pledge to Arkansas in late January.

Pierce received 23 scholarship offers from programs around the country as is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and the nation’s No. 20 tight end.

The Plantation High School standout had offers from Florida Atlantic, Arkansas, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Central Florida, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
