The Mississippi State women’s basketball team will hold an awards banquet tonight in the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex at 6:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs made their first postseason appearance in four year under second year head coach Vic Schaefer advancing to the quarterfinals of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

MSU finished with a 22-14 record which ranked as the fourth-most wins in the program’s history.

The Bulldogs led the nation in free throw attempts (997) and were second in shots made from the charity stripe (705). State also set school records with 1,410 rebounds and 2,551 points scored.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
