Mississippi State added a quarterback to its 2015 class Thursday night as Mesquite, Texas signal caller Chason Virgil joined the fold.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder threw for 1,440 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 298 yards on the ground with three more scores.
Virgil chose the Bulldogs over offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Boise State, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, SMU, Toledo and UCLA.
The three-star prospect is listed as the No. 18 pro-style quarterback by 247Sports.com. Virgil is MSU’s 12 commitment in the class and plans to enroll in January 2015.
