It is no secret that Mississippi State struggled in the field goal department last season and past spring.
The Bulldogs made only 10 of their 21 field goal attempts in 2013.
But help could be on the way in the form of former Michigan kicker J.J. McGrath.
McGrath tweeted Thursday that he was “Starkville Bound! #HailState”. A week ago the Macomb, Mich., native announced that he was “Officially heading down to Starkville to join the Mississippi State Bulldogs. #HailState.”
McGrath was a preferred walk-on for the Wolverines last season but did not kick in a game. He is eligible to play immediately.
The left-footer made 7-of-11 field goals at Lutheran North as a high school senior including 57, 54 and 52-yarders.
