Two members of Mississippi State’s 2015 recruiting class are no longer committed to the Bulldogs.

Jay Johnson of Bruce and Armani Linton of Walnut flipped their commitment Friday night while attending camp at Ole Miss. Johnson is listed as a three-star athlete while Linton is a three-star safety.

Johnson, a 6-foot-4, 210-pounder, had been committed to MSU since Dec. 3 while Linton made his pledge to the Bulldogs on Feb. 8.

Their de-commitments drop State down to 15 commitments but did not affect its No. 8 national ranking according to 247Sports.com.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.

I hope they had a chance to see the Golden Egg while in Starkville lying about their commitment…because, chance are, they won’t see it first hand again.

These guys are young. They will likely change their minds a few more times before signing day (they have every right to). They just need to focus on their grades and stay out of trouble…

I do find it fascinating that African American student athletes choose a school named Ole MIss – which comes from the slave dialect for the mistress of the plantation… Ole Master = slave owner; Ole Miss = his wife… As confirmed below by a professor who teaches at Ole Miss:

Here are the fans that these two players will represent (and their views after an African American was elected president):

    Hotty Toddy!
