Dale Burdick (Perfect Game)

Mississippi State shortstop signee Dale Burdick was selected by the New York Mets in the final round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

The Mets took Burdick with the 1,195th pick out of Summit (Tenn.) High School. He has been committed to the Diamond Dogs since July 2012 and signed this past fall.

Burdick was a Southeast first team All-Region selection by Perfect Game

Burdick is one of two Bulldog signees to be selected along with catcher Chase Vallot, who was 40th overall pick.

Burdrick will have until July 18 to sign with the Mets or continue his plan to play for MSU.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
