NCBWA names Lindgren second team All-American

Mississippi State junior pitcher Jacob Lindgren received another postseason honor after being selected as a second team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Lindgren finished the season with a 6-1 record and three saves during 26 relief appearances. He had a 0.81 earned run average with 100 strikeouts.

In SEC play, the Bay St. Louis native sported a 0.55 ERA with opponents batting just .114 against him and giving up just two earned runs.

Lindgren led the nation averaging 16.3 strikeouts per nine innings and was the 40 Bulldog in program history to be tabbed as an All-American. He was a second round draft selection (55th overall) by the New York Yankees.
