Mississippi State added its 18th pledge for 2015 collecting the commitment of Pascagoula standout Keith Joseph Jr.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound three-star prospect is rated as the No. 26 prospect in Mississippi by 247Sports.com and the nation’s 44th weakside defensive end.

Joseph is the son of former defensive lineman Keith Joseph Sr., who lettered for the Bulldogs from 1989-92. He chose MSU over offers from Arizona State, Cincinnati, Duke, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisville, Nebraska, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Tulane.

Last season, Joseph tallied 67 tackles, 17 stops for loss, five sacks, recovered three fumbles and had an interception and helped the Panthers clinch a Class 5A playoff berth with a 10-2 record.

Joseph is the 10th in-state commitment for the Bulldogs, who rank 11th nationally.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
