Former Mississippi State outfielder Hunter Renfroe has been selected to play in the 16th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.

Renfroe was the 13th overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres and played in the California League All-Star game this summer after hitting .295 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI. Last week he was promoted to Double-A San Antonio.

The All-Star Futures Game will be played July 13 at Target Field in Minneapolis at 4 p.m. televised on MLB Network as part of the MLB All-Star game festivities.

Former MSU football signee Billy Hamilton of the Cincinnati Reds is a former Futures Game participant.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
