Copiah-Lincoln Community College three-star defensive end Jonathan Calvin joins teammate Donald Gray as a member of Mississippi State’s 2015 class.

Calvin is a former high school teammate of fellow 2015 Bulldog commitment Malik Dear at Murrah.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder was part of a string of commitments the Bulldogs received on Friday.

Calvin also has offers from Akron, Arizona State, Auburn, Georgia State, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Lousiana-Lafayette, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, TCU, Temple, Tennesee, Texas A&M, Texas State and West Virginia.

Calvin is ranked as the No. 29 junior college prospect in the nation by 247Sports.com.

As a freshman at Co-Lin, Calvin make 29 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and an interception helping the Wolfpack go 7-2 in 2013.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
