Mississippi State added its second commitment of the day Friday as Nixa, Mo., three-star running back Alec Murphy made his pledge while adding Big Dawg Camp.
The 6-foot-1, 222-pounder chose the Bulldogs over offers from Iowa, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State and Purdue.
Murphy is considered the No. 50 running back nationally by 247Sports.com composite and the eighth ranked prospect in Missouri.
Murphy has rushed for 2,639 yards and 32 touchdowns the past two seasons at Nixa High School. As a junior, he carried 209 times for 1,793 yards and 22 scores helping the Eagles to a 9-2 record and into the third round of the Class 5 Playoffs.
Murphy is MSU’s 20th commitment and second running back joining Kentavious Thomas.
