Linebacker Deshon Cooper was among the 105 listed on Mississippi State’s reporting roster on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-2, 209-pounder from Atlanta is eligible to begin practicing when the Bulldogs open camp on Thursday. Cooper will be permitted to practice until Aug. 18, which is the deadline for him to become academically eligible.
As a senior at Columbia High School, Cooper recorded 49 tackles, 17 for loss, 16 sacks, forced five fumbles and recovered one. On offense, he had 18 catches for 335 yards and three touchdowns.
Three of MSU’s signees – offensive lineman Jordan Harris, cornerback Lashard Durr and tight end Ravian Pierce – will not begin camp.
