Mississippi State will be ringing in the launch of the SEC Network with a party in The Junction on campus.

The launch party will start at 4:30 p.m., 30 minutes prior to the start of the SEC Network going live to 90 million homes.

Screens will be set up on location to show the first two hours of programming. Part of that initial programming will be a live interview with MSU football coach Dan Mullen at practice by Tony Barnhart.

The Bulldogs practice will be the only one shown live league wide. Following the conclusion of practice, Barnhart will also speak with quarterback Dak Prescott.

Director of athletics Scott Stricklin will address the crowd in The Junction at 4:45 p.m. The Famous Maroon Band, cheerleaders, Bully and the Egg Bowl trophy will all be on hand and free refreshments will be served.

The Bulldogs season opener against Southern Miss will be aired on the SEC Network on Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
