Live from Ladd-Peebles Stadium

Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

I just arrived at Ladd-Peebles stadium for the first time. I got here yesterday afternoon and can tell you that South Alabama fans are pumped about this game. This is the first time they’ve sold out in their six years and are expecting 40,000 in this 33,000 seat facility. It’s a beautiful day down here on the coast and if you can’t be here you can catch the game on ESPNews. South Alabama just arrived and its players are walking the field now.

I’ll be here for the duration so stay tuned…

MSU just arrived as well and the players are walking the field.

South Alabama will wear white headgears, red jerseys and white britches.

True freshmen on the MSU travel roster include Elijah Staley, Nick Fitzgerald, Westin Graves, Logan Cooke, Elgton Jenkins, Jamoral Graham and Rashun Dixon.

Safety Justin Cox did make the trip to Mobile. But Cox is not wearing a helmet during warm-ups so him playing does not look good. I’m told Deontay Evans will start at safety.

Offensive lineman Jamaal Clayborn is not among the offensive lineman warming up. He did not make the trip.

Safety Kendrick Market is dressed out.

They had a helicopter flyover after the national anthem.

South Alabama won the toss and deferred to the second half. MSU will receive.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
