Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen confirmed Monday that sophomore cornerback Cedric Jiles will miss the remainder of the 2014 season with a hamstring injury.
Jiles injured his hamstring during fall camp and has not seen action this fall.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder from Clinton is in his third year with the Bulldogs having played in 14 career games including three starts. Jiles has 25 tackles and one pass breakup during his career.
Jiles has already used a medical redshirt during his true freshman campaign in 2012. He appeared in three games before hand and foot injuries cost him the remainder of the year.
Jiles is one of three players MSU has lost to injury this season joining senior right tackle Damien Robinson and redshirt freshman wide receiver Shelby Christy.
