Live from Davis Wade Stadium

davis wade dayI just arrived in the press box for today’s early start at Davis Wade Stadium. Fans are already in a frenzy in the Junction surrounding the SEC Nation set. There’s a little chill in the air this morning and I even broke out a light jacket for the first time this fall. The weather is either changing or I’m getting older (my birthday is tomorrow). I’m expecting a high-scoring game here today and I’ve got Gene Phelps and Kedrick Storey alongside to share the workload. We will have a ton of coverage in tomorrow’s paper from this and the other marquee matchup in the state so be sure and pick up a copy.

Remember that senior center Dillon Day is suspended for this one and I’m expecting Ben Beckwith to start in his place. I think Devon Desper will get the start in Beckwith’s right guard position. Today’s game will be on ESPN at 11 a.m. so stay tuned for updates throughout the day. Thanks for following along.

The Bulldogs have arrived to a ton of fanfare and are walking the field right now. Texas A&M is here as well, a few of the specialists are out on the field stretching.

The Aggies are going with all white uniforms including white helmets with a chrome logo.

Desper was announced as a starter at guard for today’s game.

MSU flipped the commitment of Aliceville, Ala., three-star defensive end Anfernee Mullins. Mullins was previously committed to South Alabama.

The Bulldogs will wear their glossy maroon helmets with white facemasks, maroon 90’s throwback uniforms and white pants.

There was a nice tribute to Jack Cristil before the game. There was a video package of some of Jack’s memorable calls, the band spelled out “JACK” and the flyover was in a missing man formation.

Jameon Lewis is out for today’s game with a right leg injury.

MSU won the toss and deferred to the second half.

Richie Brown picks off a tipped pass and returns it 30-yards to midfield.

Robinson gives it right back to the Aggies with a fumble.

Richie Brown nabs another interception.
