For the fourth time this season, Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott has been named the Manning Award National Quarterback of the Week.

Prescott totaled 367 yards and three touchdown during the Bulldogs 38-23 win over Auburn last weekend on their rise to a No. 1 ranking. He ranks second nationally with 138 points responsible for and is tied for the lead among quarterbacks with eight rushing touchdowns.

A quarterback has thrown for over 200 yards and eclipsed 100 yards on the ground in a single game against Auburn twice in the last 40 years. Prescott has done it both times.

Additionally, Prescott was named a Mid-Season All-American by Sports Illustrated, and The Sporting News this week.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
