I’ve arrived in the press box for this week’s homecoming game against UT Martin. The Skyhawks have arrived and are walking the field right now. It’s a perfect fall afternoon here in Starkville with hardly a cloud in the sky. I’m interested to see how the return of Dylan Favre goes and how much he plays. I was high on him in recruiting and always enjoyed watching him play. He has a bit of his uncle Brett and a little Johnny Manziel in him which makes for an exciting combination.

I’ll be here alongside Kedrick Storey throughout the game so stay tuned for updates.

Favre received a lot of hugs and handshakes as Mississippi State made their way onto the field.

Jameon Lewis is out on the field early again getting loose for this one.

Justin Jenkins will serve as the honorary captain for today’s game.

The Skyhawks will wear white helmets with navy facemasks, white jerseys and navy pants.

Gabe Myles will start for Lewis in the slot.

Favre is one of UT Martin’s captains.

MSU will wear a glossy maroon helmet with white facemask and maroon uniforms.

State won the toss and will receive.

Dak Prescott does indeed start the game and completes the first play from scrimmage to Malcolm Johnson for a 7-yard gain.

Jamerson Love nearly had a pick on  UT-Martin’s first play and is shaken up on the second.

UT Martin moves the chains twice on its opening drive before punting.

No sign of Will Redmond yet on MSU’s sideline. Redmond is suspended one-game for a violation of team rules.

Prescott completes a 14-yard touchdown to Blaine Clausell but it’s called back for illegal touching for the offensive lineman.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
