Mississippi State’s 2017 recruiting class is back to being empty as Plano, Texas four-star linebacker Anthony Hines III dropped his commitment from the Bulldogs after 13 months.

Hines III tweeted Friday evening “After speaking with my parents and coaches, I have decided to de-commit from Mississippi State and open up my recruitment.”

The 6-foot-2, 218-pounder owns 55 offers from around the country and is rated the No. 6 inside linebacker for 2017 by 247Sports.com.

As a sophomore at Plano East, Hines III made 93 stops, 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a pass deflection.
