Five Mississippi State players along with head coach Dan Mullen were recognized on the Associated Press All-SEC team that was announced on Monday.

Mullen was named SEC Coach of the Year after guiding the Bulldogs to a school-best 10-2 regular season and an upcoming appearance in the Orange Bowl. Mullen is the fourth MSU coach selected as AP SEC Coach of the Year and first since Sylvester Croom in 2007.

running back Josh Robinson, senior defensive end Preston Smith and junior linebacker Benardrick McKinney were selected to the second team.

Prescott completed 61.2 percent of his passes for 2,996 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while adding 939 rushing yards and 13 more scores. Beckwith was a three-time SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week winner and was a finalist for the Bulsworth Trophy.

Robinson ran for 1,128 yards and 11 touchdowns and was second on the team with 28 receptions for 370 yards and another score.

Smith topped the Bulldogs with 14.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks and was the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week three times. Smith finished with 44 tackles, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks and two interceptions – one of which he returned for a touchdown. McKinney led the team in tackles for a second straight year with 61 stops. He also added eight tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.
