For the second straight day, Mississippi State junior linebacker Benardrick McKinney was selected as an All-American.

On Friday it was ESPN who tabbed the 6-foot-5, 249-pounder with the honor. McKinney led the Bulldogs with 61 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

McKinney was tabbed as a second team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Thursday. The Tunica native was also named a first team All-SEC selection by ESPN and the league’s coaches and a second team All-SEC selection by the media.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
