Freshman first baseman Dylan Ingram intends to transfer from Mississippi State according to his Instagram account.

The 6-foot-2, 214-pounder from Pike Road, Ala., spent his initial season redshirting with the Diamond Dogs last spring.

Ingram was the AISA Player of the Year in both baseball and football his senior season at Edgewood Academy.

This summer Ingram led the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League with 36 runs batted in. He hit .274 with nine doubles, a triple and three home runs for the Lima Locos.

MSU’s options at first base this season include senior Wes Rea and freshmen Brent Rooker and Cole Gordon.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
