Mississippi State fans received some favorable news Tuesday morning as the Orange Bowl announced it will allow cowbells inside Sun Life Stadium for the Dec. 31 match-up against Georgia Tech.

Bulldogs fans will have to abide by the Southeastern Conference rules during the game and will not be permitted to ring when the center is over the football at the line of scrimmage.

“We appreciate the Capital One Orange Bowl allowing our fans to continue a timeless Mississippi State tradition at this year’s game,” MSU director of athletics Scott Stricklin said in a release. “Our fans did a wonderful job this season with cowbell compliance, and I know they’ll exhibit the same as a show of appreciation to the Orange Bowl.”

Cowbells were also allowed in Dan Mullen‘s previous appearances in the Gator, Music City and Liberty bowls.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
