Beckwith, Day to play in East-West Shrine Game

The Orange Bowl will not be the final collegiate action for a pair of MSU senior offensive linemen.

Center Dillon Day and right guard Ben Beckwith have accepted invitations to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 17 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The game will be televised on the NFL Network.

Beckwith is an All-SEC and All-American performer who has started 23 consecutive games for the Bulldogs. Day made 42 starts as State’s center over the last four years and served as

a team co-captain this season.

Former Bulldog running back LaDarius Perkins, now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, played in the East-West Shrine Game last year.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
