After getting off to a 17-0 start, Mississippi State has been named the Team of the Week by NCAA.com.

Vic Schaefer‘s Bulldogs are 2-0 in conference play following a 64-56 win over No. 19 Georgia on Friday and a 53-47 victory at Missouri on Sunday.

MSU also jumped three spots in the latest Associated Press rankings up to No. 14. The Bulldogs are one of three undefeated teams remaining behind top-ranked South Carolina and No. 3 Texas.

State features one of the nation’s top defenses and have held nine opponents to under 50 points.

The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday hosting Arkansas at 8 p.m. on FSN.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
