Baseball season is less than a month away and Mississippi State received another top 25 ranking on Tuesday.

Perfect Game ranked the Diamond Dogs at No. 23 in its preseason poll.

MSU was one of seven Southeastern Conference programs picked in the top 25. Defending national champion Vanderbilt holds the top spot followed by No. 4 Florida, No. 7 LSU, No. 14 South Carolina, No. 16 Arkansas and No. 25 Texas A&M.

The Bulldogs are also ranked 20th in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll.

A school record 47 of State’s games will be aired during the regular season with 11 being televised.

ESPNU will carry the South Carolina game on April 2, Florida on April 19 and the LSU games on April 30 and May 1. ESPN2 will air the LSU game on May 2 and the SEC Network will televise the Florida game on April 18, the entire Ole Miss series May 7-9 and Tennessee on May 16.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
