State ranked 25th in USA Today poll

Mississippi State received its fourth preseason ranking on Thursday coming in at No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll.

The Diamond Dogs are also ranked 20th by Collegiate Baseball, 23rd by Perfect Game and 14th by Baseball America. D1Baseball.com did not have MSU in its preseason top 25.

John Cohen‘s club received 99 points in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and were one of seven Southeastern Conference teams among the top 25.

Defending national champion Vanderbilt is ranked No. 1 while LSU (4), Florida (5), South Carolina (10) round out the top 10. Also ranked is Ole Miss at No. 18 and Texas A&M at No. 23.

Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas all received votes in the poll.
