Mississippi State wide receiver Jameon Lewis will represent the Bulldogs in the College Gridiron Showcase Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Arlington, Texas.

The game will be televised on Comcast Sports Network. Lewis will play for the Desperados, coached by Mississippian Marcus Dupree.

Lewis appeared in 49 games during his MSU career and started 21 times in the slot. He finished with 3,325 all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 183-pounder caught 113 passes for 1,554 yards and eight touchdowns.

Lewis also ran for four touchdowns, threw three and returned a kickoff 100-yards during the 2012 Egg Bowl. He holds the school single game receiving record of 220 yards set in the 2013 Liberty Bowl.

The Tylertown native missed three games as a senior due to a cracked fibula but still finished as MSU’s second leading receiver with 32 catches for 380 yards and two touchdowns.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
