Mississippi State will welcome its seventh recruiting class under Dan Mullen starting Wednesday morning.

The Bulldogs currently have 27 commitments and rank 17th in the latest rankings. Should it stand, it would be the highest rated class during Mullen’s tenure surpassing his initial 2009 class which ranked 20th.

Six commitments are already enrolled for the spring semester – three junior college transfers and three early high school graduates. That group is headlined by four-star prospects Donald Gray, Martinas Rankin and Malik Dear. Rankin is considered the nation’s top junior college offensive tackle.

MSU has 11 of the top 35 instate prospects committed and had two more – Tommy Champion and Cameron Myers – enroll in junior college last month. Bassfield four-star safety Jamal Peters is State’s highest rated recruit.

The Bulldogs are hoping to add two more additions to the class in Brookhaven four-star linebacker Leo Lewis and Pearl River Community College three-star defensive tackle Courtney Miggins.

Mississippi State will stream a live signing day show Wednesday from 8-10 a.m. on SEC Network +. Mullen will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. and there will be a national signing day party at Dawghouse Sports Grill in Starkville with free admission from 6-8 p.m.
