It may have taken until national signing day but Mississippi State closed its 2015 class with the addition of four-star linebacker Leo Lewis.
Lewis chose the Bulldogs over LSU at a signing day ceremony at Brookhaven High School. He also double signed with Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder is rated the nation’s No. 1 inside linebacker and is the No. 2 prospect in Mississippi according to 247Sports.com.
Lewis had previously been committed to both Alabama and Ole Miss during the recruiting process. He also held offers from Arkansas, Auburn, California, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UCLA.
The Under Armor All-American made 76 tackles as a senior including a sack and a fumble recovery.
Lewis’ commitment pushed MSU’s class to 28 members and up to No. 17 nationally.
