Morgan William‘s play off the bench sparked Mississippi State’s 63-61 overtime win against Texas A&M on Sunday.

The point guard from Birmingham, Ala., scored 15 points, grabbed five rebounds, had two steals and dished out an assist in 28 minutes. She scored 10 points in the second half against the Aggies.

William was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for a second time on Monday. She previously won the award after Week 1 in November.

William has appeared in all 26 games and is averaging 9.4 points which ranks second on the team. The Bulldogs rose four spots to No. 13 in the Associated Press poll on Monday.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
