Mississippi State sophomore outfielder Jacob Robson was selected as a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball following a stellar weekend.

Robson reached base in 16 of his 17 plate appearances including 14 straight to start the year. He collected six hits, five walks, was hit by pitch twice and got on in three fielder’s choices.

The Canadian is hitting .600 with a double, two RBI and two stolen bases on the young season.

Robson batted just .063 last spring going 1-for-16 before suffering a season-ending nerve injury.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
