Mississippi State redshirt freshman Jacob Billingsley will miss the 2015 season.
Bulldogs coach John Cohen stated that the right-handed pitcher from Senatobia sustained a season-ending injury.
“He had a couple of arm issues that had to be taken care of,” Cohen said. “”I know he’s really upset and certainly he’ll handle the rehab part of it really well. He’s worked so hard and that’s it’s so devastating to see him not be able to pitch for us. Hopefully he’ll be able to pitch next spring.”
Billingsley redshirted at MSU last spring and pitched in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League during the summer. The Magnolia Heights product was 1-0 in seven relief appearances with 16 strikeouts in 14.2 innings and a flawless earned run average.
