The Mississippi State men’s basketball team helped with the clean-up in the devastating tornadoes that ripped through Tupelo and North Mississippi last year.

The Bulldogs efforts did not end there.

MSU will collect donations prior to Saturday’s home finale against Missouri in order to further aid the tornado relief. The Bulldogs will be collecting non-perishable food, clothes, blankets, flashlights and batteries beginning at 4 p.m.

In exchange for the donation, fans will receive half-off admission to their 5:30 p.m. game that day.

β€œOur fans have given us so much support and I thought it was imperative we do something to give back,” said MSU coach Rick Ray. β€œTo see the damage and then how everyone persevered was really touching, and as a team we want to make sure we can do everything we can to help.”

All food donations will go to the Mississippi Food Network.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
