Mississippi State’s season may be over but the honors continue to roll in for Victoria Vivians.

The talented freshman was selected as an honorable mention as a Associated Press All-American.

Vivians becomes the first Bulldog selected as an All-American since Alexis Rack in 2010 and first AP All-American since Tupelo’s Tan White in 2005.

The Carthage native averaged 14.9 points which ranks fifth nationally among freshmen and is third overall in the SEC.

Vivians was also a second team All-SEC selection by both the AP and league coaches. She also claimed the Gillom Trophy, which is awarded anually to the top women’s college basketball player in Mississippi.

Vivians was a four-time SEC Freshman of the Week, a USBWA National Freshman of the Week and the Preseason WNIT MVP.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
