Mississippi State’s softball team is back in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
The Bulldogs (35-19) return to the Lafayette Regional for the second straight year to take on Baylor (38-15) in the opening round Friday at 5:30 p.m. Weber State and host Lafayette are also in the regional.
“I’m just really happy for those of us who have grinded it out all year,” said MSU coach Vann Stuedeman. “We’re ready to get back down to Lafayette and right some wrongs. We were there last year and it feels very fresh to all of us. I love the opportunity to be dancing and the opportunity to live one more day.”
MSU went 1-2 at the Lafayette Regional last season going 1-2 with a win over Texas Southern and losing twice to Texas.
It is MSU’s 12th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and have an 11-22 record overall at the event.
