Bulldogs sign four-star PF

Ben Howland missed Monday’s stop in Tupelo for the Road Dawgs Tour in order to host four-star prospect Aric Holman on an official visit.

That decision paid off as Holman signed his letter of intent on that visit and announced his decision to be a Bulldog on Thursday morning.

The 6-foot-9, 200-pounder is rated that nation’s No. 25 power forward, No. 2 prospect in Kentucky and 101st player nationally¬†in 2015 according to 247Sports.com.

Holman had initially decided to attend Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy. He also had offers from South Carolina, VCU, Auburn, Chattanooga, Florida Gulf Coast, Kansas State, Memphis, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Stetson, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

Holman averaged 15.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.9 blocks leading Owensboro to a state championship.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
