Trouble continues to follow former Mississippi State defensive tackle Quay Evans.

The former five-star recruit from Morton was arrested in Oktibbeha County for the third time since he was dismissed from the football team in 2013.

Evans’ latest arrest stems from a shooting at Aspen Heights Apartment Complex in Starkville on March 21. According to a police report, a witness claimed the 6-foot-3, 310-pounder fired a gun into the air following a fight. A warrant was issued for shooting into a dwelling which led to his arrest on Tuesday by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office.

His other two arrests were for traffic violations.

Evans played in 15 games during his two seasons at MSU making 10 tackles, one for loss while forcing and recovering a fumble. He signed with West Georgia in 2014 but never enrolled.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
