MSU Media Day: Dak Prescott

Mississippi State senior quarterback Dak Prescott fielded questions from the media about the upcoming season at the Bulldogs’ on-campus media day on Friday.

On the running backs…

“We have a lot of versatility. It is a good group of guys who can do a bunch of things. We have everything from the big Dontavian Lee and the smaller Brandon Holloway. We have a wide range of guys who each bring something different to the offense. That will definitely help us out.”

On the lack of returning starters…

“I still think we are a better team. Regardless of the guys that started last year, the guys we have coming back were on the 1B. Because they did not get the first series, a lot of guys would come in the second series of the game. We have a lot of guys with a lot of reps and experience.”

On Jamaal Clayborn adjusting at center…

“He is doing great. I am very comfortable with him and we are on the same page every time we come up to the line. We are good to go with the running back and have worked hard throughout the summer to make sure everything is going well.”

On depth at wide receiver…

“Our receivers are very, very talented. A lot of guys will rotate in and out because we have size and speed. They all have a wide range of skills. I think we have a very talented group that is going to make my job easier.”

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
