MSU Media Day: De’Runnya Wilson

Mississippi State wide receiver De’Runnya Wilson speaks about his breakout season last year and what is motivating him coming into his junior campaign.

On his improvement this offseason…

“I think that comes with experience. Coach (Billy) Gonzales pushes us to the limit, and that is one of the things I am proud of. I am going to go out and work hard every day.”

On the explosiveness of the offense…

“Very explosive. It is a NASCAR offense. We are trying to go faster than we did last year and maximize our craft every day.”

On being a leader…

“I want to be a better leader on and off the field. That starts with doing the little things and putting myself in better position out there.”

On his weight…

“I have worked very hard in the offseason. We work hard as a team and a lot of guys are looking different after conditioning. Now it is time to get back to football.”

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
