A day after Mississippi State released its non-conference schedule, the Bulldogs learned their Southeastern Conference slate as well.
MSU will appear on television 10 times during league play including the SEC opener on the road at Florida on Jan. 3. Tip-off for that contest is set for noon on the SEC Network.
It is the second time in the last three years MSU has opened conference play in Gainesville and the 13th time in the last 17 years it has began league action on the road.
Vic Schaefer and the Bulldogs then return to Humphrey Coliseum for their home opener against Auburn Jan. 7.
State has home-and-home dates with Arkansas, Missouri and Ole Miss.
“The SEC is always a challenging schedule because every time you step on the court you are going against the best players in the country and Hall of Fame coaches,” said MSU coach Vic Schaefer. “I’m really proud that our program will get national exposure on ESPN2 twice and the SEC Network eight times. It is a testament to the progress we have made here at Mississippi State.”
The Bulldogs host Arkansas (Jan. 10), Ole Miss (Jan. 17), South Carolina (Jan. 24), Tennessee (Jan. 28), Missouri (Feb. 7), Kentucky (Feb. 18) and Alabama (Feb. 28).
Mississippi State will also travel to Missouri (Jan. 14), Georgia (Jan. 21), Arkansas (Jan. 31), LSU (Feb. 4), Texas A&M (Feb. 11), Ole Miss (Feb. 21) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 25).
The SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held in Jacksonville, Fla., from March 2-6.
Last year Schaefer’s squad posted an 11-5 mark in SEC play which tied for third overall.
