Live from Davis Wade Stadium

Davis Wade Stadium

Davis Wade Stadium

Mississippi State is back at home for the first time in a few weeks hosting Troy to begin a three-game homestand. It’s an overcast and dreary afternoon here in Starkville and doesn’t appear to be a whole lot of fans on campus. We’ll see how the stadium fills up as we move closer to game time. Troy has just arrived at the stadium and is currently walking the field. Remember that today’s game is on the SEC Network. I’ll be here for the duration so stay tuned for updates.

MSU has also arrived and there were reports that Dak Prescott did not participate in the Dawg Walk.

Wide receivers Joe Morrow and Gabe Myles are not dressed out. Myles has a boot on his left foot.

Scott Stricklin and Manny Diaz are standing at the 41-yard line watching the OU-Texas game together on the MooTube.

Prescott is sick with a stomach virus and will be a game-time decision. He will go through warm-ups to see how he does.

Tight end Gus Walley is also out for today’s game.

Prescott is out on the field throwing.

Troy is wearing garnett helmets with grey facemasks, white jerseys and grey pants.

Brandon Holloway will start at running back, Elgton Jenkins will start at left tackle, Darrion Hutcherson will start at tight end and Brandon Bryant will start at strong safety.

It appears that Prescott will indeed start today’s game.

MSU wearing maroon helmets with white facemasks, maroon jerseys, grey pants with maroon and white piping down the side.

Prescott and Will Redmond are both coming out for the coin toss as captains.

MSU won the toss and wants the ball.

Rufus Warren is dressed out and led the Dawg Pound Rock.

Prescott does indeed start the game at quarterback.

Troy’s first play from scrimmage is a 9-yard pass by Brandon Silvers to Teddy Ruben.

Bryant sacked Silvers on Troy’s third play and jarred the ball loose. Nelson Adams fell on it in the end zone for the MSU score. Graves PAT, 14-0 MSU 13:16 1st.

A.J. Jefferson with back-t0-back tackles for loss.

Jefferson and Kivon Coman combine on a sack.

Dallas Tidwell in at QB for Troy. I covered him at a Nike Camp in Tuscaloosa a few years ago.

77-yard punt return for a touchdown by Ross. Graves PAT, 21-0 MSU 3:04 1st. MSU has now scored a touchdown on offense, defense and special teams in the first quarter.

Nick Fitzgerald in at QB for MSU.

MSU’s offense would have had back-to-back 3-and-outs but Logan Cooke kept a fake punt for an 11-yard run to move the chains.
