Mississippi State’s 2015 baseball signing class continues to receive praise by national publications.

The new crop of Diamond Dogs were rated the fifth-best class in the country by Baseball America on Tuesday. It was previously rated No. 3 by Collegiate Baseball last month.

The No. 5 ranking was MSU’s best by Baseball America since it was rated third in 2000.

John Cohen added 22 newcomers to his roster this fall with 16 coming from high school and six more junior college transfers. Jared Padgett, Elih Marrero and Delvin Zinn passed up professional opportunities after being selected in the MLB Draft.

The Bulldogs also signed three state players of the year in Kale Breaux (Louisiana), Hunter Stovall (Alabama) and Nate Lowe (Florida junior college).

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
