The injury bug struck Mississippi State linebacker Dez Harris yet again.

During the Louiaiana Tech game last weekend, the redshirt sophomore suffered his third anterior cruiciate ligament tear in four years and will miss the remainder of the season. It was the second straight year Harris has torn his left ACL, suffering the same injury against Auburn in 2014.

The 6-foot-4, 239-pounder was listed second on the depth chart behind Beniquez Brown at outside linebacker. Harris had appeared in all seven games making nine tackles on the season. Junior DeAndre Ward now moves into a back-up role at outside linebacker.

Harris suffered his first ACL tear in his right knee in a preseason jamboree prior to his senior season at McAdory (Ala.) High School.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
