Ben Howland‘s already highly regarded recruiting class at Mississippi State got even better Wednesday afternoon with the addition of five-star forward Mario Kegler.
The 6-foot-7, 223-pounder is a native of Jackson and a former teammate of Malik Newman at Callaway. Kegler is currently at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia and is averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds through two games.
Kegler is rated the nation’s No. 6 small forward and 27th overall prospect by 247Sports.com. He chose the Bulldogs over 22 offers and officially visited MSU, Indiana, Maryland, Baylor and Arizona State.
Kegler’s commitment pushes the Bulldogs’ class to sixth nationally.
