Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen is in search of a new strength and conditioning coach for the second time since 2014.

Rick Court, who has served as the Bulldogs’ strength coach the past two seasons, has joined D.J. Durkin‘s new staff at Maryland.

Court and Durkin worked together from 2005-06 while at Bowling Green.

Court came to Starkville from Ohio State, where he worked from 2012-13. He has also worked at San Diego State (2011) and Toledo (2009-10).

Court replaced Mullen’s initial strength coach Matt Balis, who spent five years at MSU and left for Connecticut after the 2013 season.

Court coordinated the strength and conditioning for all 15 of the Bulldogs’ varsity sports.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
