Mississippi State left-handed pitcher Andrew Mahoney is transferring to San Jacinto (Texas) Community College according to Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com.

The redshirt freshman from Daphne, Ala., did not pitch for the Bulldogs during the spring while recovering from Tommy John surgery during his final year of high school.

Mahoney went through fall ball with MSU and pitched for the Elmira Pioneers in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League going 1-0 with a 3.41 earned run average, 17 strikeouts and 11 walks in 21.1 innings of work.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
