Mississippi State has announced the signings of Copiah-Lincoln Community College defensive end Tre Brown and cornerback Lashard Durr today. Both are rated three-star prospects by 247Sports.com.

Brown, a 6-foot-4, 265-pounder from Ackerman, made 27 tackles, two for loss, two pass deflections and forced a fumble this fall.

Durr initially signed with the Bulldogs in 2014 out of Harrison Central. The 6-foot, 180-pounder recorded 32 tackles, two for loss, one sack and scooped up a fumble for a touchdown while returning 10 kicks for 288 yards.

Additionally, MSU also anticipates receiving financial aid agreements from three-star cornerback C.J. Morgan-Walker (5-11, 187) of Bossier City, La., and three-star tight end Christian Roberson (6-6, 230) of Powder Springs, Ga.

Three-star tight end Dontea Jones (6-4, 260) of Jireh Prep (N.C.) is also expected to join the Bulldogs in the spring. The Louisville native initially signed with the Bulldogs’ 2015 class.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
